The Mage
The Mage is a dark, hooded figure with glowing eyes, wearing a flowing cloak that hides most of his body. I wanted to keep him simple but still visually interesting, so I built him in Shape Lab using basic shapes like cylinders for the torso and arms, and a cone-like shape for the hood. For an animation, I had him slowly raise one hand while his eyes glow brighter, creating a dramatic effect.
Drift the Turtle
For the creation of Drift, I carefully adjusted each shape to match the design I wanted, making sure all the pieces fit together properly. Once I had all the pieces arranged, I used the smooth tool to blend them together. This step helped remove harsh lines and made the character look polished and cohesive, giving it a more natural and seamless appearance.
After shaping and smoothing, I moved on to the painting stage. Using the paint tool, I added colors to my companion and applied shading to give depth and dimension. I experimented with different tones to make the textures more realistic and visually interesting, which really brought Drift to life. The combination of shaping, smoothing, and painting allowed me to see my vision come together in 3D, and I was able to refine details as I went along to make the character feel complete.
Professor Palette
Professor Palette is an educator character. My character is a worm who teaches art, and he was really fun to design because he has a lot of personality. He is truly a real teacher in a virtual world. I think ShapeLab was the best way to bring Professor Palette to life. My idea is to make him hold a paint palette with colorful paints and add little details, like glasses and a mustache, to make him more expressive and approachable!
